BERRI TXARRAK

BERRI TXARRAK rock’s melodies and energy. Really difficult to define but easy to feel. After a first record which gave them the chance to grow on stage, they brought their second album “Ikasten” in 1999, which became a full surprise into the basque alternative rock scene due to their amazing melodies, feeling, energy and lyrics -all in euskera, basque language-. In 2001 august, after the succesful tour, they recorded their 3rd record, out october of 2001. This album produced by Kaki Arkarazo at Garate Studios (Andoain, Gipuzkoa) was called “ESKUAK/UKABILAK” (hands / fists), feauting some of the band’s hits like ‘Oihu’, ‘Stereo’ or ‘Biziraun’ (winner of ‘best basque song of the year’ award). BERRI TXARRAK’s 4th album was released in october of 2003 tittled “LIBRE (c) “. Eleven brand new tracks at their best level where metal meets hardcore and emo, featuring Tim from RISE AGAINST in the song “Denak ez du balio”. ‘Libre (c)’ appeared at almost every important best-of-year rankings in musical magazines like Rock Sound (best national rock album of the year). The band toured for a year and a half, visiting for the first time places like UK, Denmark and Germany. Aitor Oreja left the band after this tour, so BERRI TXARRAK is a power-trio now. So, in 2005 their released their 5th one, called ‘Jaio.Musika.Hil’ (Get Born.Music.To Die’), their black album co-produced and mixed by ED ROSE (The Get Up Kids, Coalesce, Motion City Soundtrack, Kurt Cobain…). The bands keeps on writing really good lyrics, full of cryticism and poetic touches. ‘Jaio.Musika.Hil’ means another step forward by this different band, who is recluting new fans wherever they go -they played in USA, Mexico and Nicaragua in 2005- and getting really good reviews like Mondosonoro magazine’s ‘Best Hardcore Record of the year’ with one of the best live shows within the Spanish State rock panorama..
